APAP 2019 marks my 5th year photoing the annual New York City Conference held by the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. I always photo it with my wife Christy, but she had to miss last year due to being pregnant with our first child, so it was good to have her back for APAP 2019!
While the majority of the event takes place at the Hilton Midtown in Manhattan, so much of the performing arts aspect of it happens throughout the city at theaters and clubs. The photos at the beginning of the set feature venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, Japan Society, Skirball NYU, National Sawdust, Birdland, New York City Center and a new one this year, the Copacabana in Times Square for globalFest (separate post about that event HERE).
Artists include (alphabetically): AKU-MATU, Altai Kai, Alter Ego, Anais A Dance Opera, Angelica Negron, Anthony Hudson, Black Grace Dance Company, Camile A Brown, Christopher K. Morgan, Cirque Alfonse, Delvon Lamarr Ogan Trio, Goblin Party, Kuan-Hsiang Liu, Kurt Elling, Lula Washington Dance, New York Theatre Ballet, PUSH, & Red Baraat.
The later half of the set features mostly photos of the general conference atmosphere from APAP 2019 in the Hilton Midtown. Lots of panels, professional development sessions, plenaries and scenes from the expo hall.
If you would like to learn more about the Association of Performing Arts Professionals, please visit their website here. They are a wonderful organization to work with and are doing amazing things to benefit the arts community as a whole in a time where we need it & them the most.
Now on to the photos… Enjoy!
